Over decades, Apte Wachan Mandir has nurtured a vibrant cultural and literary legacy through inspiring events, seminars, awards, and public gatherings.

Golden Jubilee Spring Lectures

This lecture series (Vasant Vyakhyanmala) commenced in 1970 during the Centenary Celebration of the Library. It has continued gloriously for the past 50 years.

A galaxy of public speakers, social activists, eminent thinkers and scholars have enlightened, inspired and nurtured audiences through their powerful lectures.

Literary Awards (Since 1998)

Veteran Poetess Indira Sant was deeply impressed by the activities of the Library. Her generous donation became the foundation for initiating the prestigious “Best Collection of Poetry Award” which is presented annually in her memory.

Over time, awards for newly published books in various categories have also been introduced. The glittering award ceremony, attended by eminent personalities, has earned an esteemed place in the literary world.

Traditionally, the President of the current Marathi Sahitya Sammelan chairs the function as the Chief Guest.
